you had a cap across the switch and a motor as a load .....




ist  im just guessing here....... that the cap will be charged from the fly back  from the load  and dumped with the next pulse.... lol

It will short circuit when SW on.
It will discharge to the load until 0.6V.
If discharge long enough to let it under 0.6V there will be no problem at short circuit. otherwise there will waste energy to the SW and will damage the SW. If put a capacitor there without the SW. will average the stored energy becomes a typical low pass filter good for obtaining pure DC.

The sparks are impressive, but a look at the videos, makes me wonder how much magnet material is being burned away. Remember, from basic chemistry, most metals release plenty of energy when reacted with oxygen. It wouldn't surprise me one bit, if neodymium acts a bit like aluminum in a thermite reaction, or as combustion catalyst for iron. Fun stuff to experiment with though, if you play safe.
