Disregarding and trying to reinvent  proven science is probably the biggest progress hindering factors here...   But another hindering factor, as Farrah Day mentioned, is the many, many,  nut cases (Sorry! There's no other word to describe these guys) that try to push their far-out unscientific theories... 

Not only do these folks push their misinformation & bizzare theories which can seriously confuse people new to science, but they "scare away" most science minded (smart!) folks who can add something truly interesting (and useful)  to the OU.com discussions.

People seem to be very, very confused here for the most part...  Lets start at the basics....

What is more valuable and more informative?

1.)  IST banging a wire on a neo magnet, which in turn makes sparks, and stating "look how much power is here!"
       
2.)  Someone with a calorimeter, measuring excess heat evolving form a coil or an electrolytic cell?


The answer should be obvious to people who know the difference between "nifty sparks" and "useful information".  IST doesn't even make any sort of power measurements..

You have got to be joking... I mean, you can't be serious... can you??  If so there are more people around here with more problems than I ever imagined.

I do not feel the urge to attack others... my 'urge' is simply to highlight the utter stupidity and nonsense around here.  It's nothing personal, I'll speak up against anyone that continually posts complete and utter bullshit.

By rights shouldn't we be able to expect a little science on a forum such as this - at least a little intelligent discussion - not constant science fiction, fantasy and continuous, never-ending bullshit!

Amongst a million other pathetic posts, Ist once claimed that he could now make gold from lead. Then we have nitinnum who used to be an angel in a 5D existence and talks about the great pyramid fueling Altantean flying war-saucers from charged water... and you think this is acceptable or to be tolerated??

What is this an infant school playground?  It certainly seems to be a focal point for the mentally challenged.

If they're not creating their own nonsense threads, these idiots are forever contaminating other peoples decent threads and disrupting any possible intelligent discussion. But that's OK because, hey ho, 'live and let live'.

It's about time a moderator started doing some useful moderating around here instead of simply deleting something that he or she didn't personally agree with.

The place needs a real wake up call, it's all becoming very 'Alice in Wonderland' and no-one seems to give a shit!

Cute name, it is a shame you have no idea who he was.  IST is a valued member of this forum and has given much of himself and has shared with others.  sure, he might not be right all of the time but then, I ask the question looking back over all of your posts, what have you shared?  Who have you helped?

I am not surprised.  It is so much easier to do nothing and to throw rocks at the ones that do.....pity that.

William is either a genius or has some problems.  The same could easily be said of any one of us here.  At least he IS DOING STUFF and sharing his research so, I am not really sure exactly how you think you are qualified to determine what stuff he has shown is good, and what is not.

Lighten up.  By the way, we, who are also moderators, know who you really are.

btw i do realize i was kinda harsh  on the investor post ...  but it is all about learning .... and it was obvesly clear to the potincial investors i have demo  ed to in the past that i was not in my personal life ready to takel all my ideas yet

so time teaches you ...  and you realize exactly how it was to unfold..  so lets just say im sure they will return 

i post basic designs...    i have many advanced designs ...  of course i know how and why it operates the way most of my things do ...  but there always acceptions ... so ...  i could never know all about it as im sure it just gets crazyer  so keep it simple ...
