First of all cause this is my first post in this genuine forum

Hi E_Wizards and non E-Wizards :D

First of all let me explain a little how i had the idea of using neodymium discs for commutators.
i got interested in that whole thing with motors using permanent magnets IE. Perendev units. (NO i didn#t could replicate it as shown here:
http://de.youtube.com/watch?v=Ooa8EBXKDW4&feature=PlayList&p=64F791FE951986BB&index=2

from these experiments i had a neodymium disc disassembled from an old Hard disc drive(HDD).
so i just used it for the commutator for the newman machine; i simply put tesa tape on it to create sectors and glued the whole thing to the shaft of the motor.
after i bought an 15 MHz oscilloscope cheap from an eBay auction i measured it i found interesting peaks although my newman unit is quite small
i should say that for experimenting purposes I'm using a variable DC power supply reaching up to ~30 volts instead of batteries

i should add that I'm quite new in the field OF EE and Experiments and in using an oscilloscope BUT I'm researching this theoretically for some years now cause i got pulled in when i first heard of things like the Coler Converter and the alleged tachyon converters used as early as 1930'S by esoteric societies in germany. "Thule-tachyonator 7b" was the phrase i read in a text i guess:-)

so after talking that much what u think about using neodymium magnets AND a neodymium disc as commutator would there be some interaction between them???

I'm going to take some pics to show to some people here that are more into EE
and post them bit later

the pics i did
i know their not good really
pic number 3,4,5 showing a testsignal (from a digital multimeter)

especially the 2 last ones were *fucked up by the slowness of my ccd chip i guess

so anybody here good in analysing these?? pls I'm really not in that kind of EE.
greets folks

Thaelin

The disc you refer to is actually an aluminum disc coated with a magnetic substance
that is quite thin. You have most likely scratched through it to the underlying aluminum.
Still would work good for the purpose.
