That is a very good question.

If we had 2 preloaded springs, 1 pound per spring, we should have 2 pounds loaded if we put them in series, inline.

I would rather you gave some information about your working device than dubious youtube videos.
As for voltage in series, we are told that the pressure increases and (maybe) the speed of the electrons. What is your idea?

To explain a little further.... And possibly a correction. Dont know yet for sure.

Say we have 1 spring. A compressible spring with spacing between rungs.  Say the spring is 10in long unloaded and can squeeze down to 5 in long at 1 pound of pressure.  So in order to contain that compressed energy, the spring needs to be put in a holder, or even a lever that is held in place with a latch so the spring holds the energy until we decide to release the latch and use that compressed energy to do work.

Now, if we have 2 springs, total 20in long uncompressed, and we squeeze it down to 10in, each spring would be compressed to 1lb and each would be 5in long just as in the first example, and the total available pressure of the 2 inline would be 2lb. Now here is the possible correction... Until I try it, im not sure yet, but considering the paragraph after this, it may be that it only takes 1 pound to squeeze both springs inline to1lb each? ???

Now hear is the tricky part that doesnt make this a good analogy, or as I stated in the last paragraph, we may have to reverse things. Like possibly 2 springs inline are the same as 2 batteries in parallel and vice verse. If we put the 2 10in springs in parallel and compress them down to 5in each, it would take 2 pounds of pressure to get them compressed that way. Quite different than the batteries, where we wouldnt have to have 24v to fully charge the 2 12v batteries in parallel.

In each situation, the way the energy is released, the springs need to have a restraint removed that holds the spring, and the batteries only need a path for charge to flow, as when the batteries are not connected with a path for current to flow..

If we look at the springs, if it takes 1 lb of pressure to compress 2 inline springs down to 5in each, 1lb each, and call that a parallel analogy to the batteries, then the total length of expansion could equal more current, like batteries in parallel. And the 2 springs side by side would have shorter throw, but 2 times the pressure of 1 spring. Do both situations require 2lb to get all springs down to 1lb, 5in each??

Lol. It is interesting 'if'(if, dont know for sure) both inline springs and side by side springs need 2lb to get the springs down to 5in each in either situation, but the batteries we dont have that situation..

So the analogy 'may' not be good at all. So Titos question may be more important than we realize. ;)
