As for cascading cap discharge, Im not sure of the purpose. I know Teets has given tips, but I have thought and thought on it. At one point I was assuming that he meant to use a voltage doubler/multiplier(diodes and caps), charging them in parallel and discharging in series.
I see it as a way to increase the voltage of an ac input. But it would be the same as charging a single cap, equal to the capacitance of the doublers caps in series, from a source that is already at the desired voltage.

And charging say 10 caps in parallel, the discharging them sequentially, it seems there would be a gap/time period after the seq discharge to recharge the 10.
Im not sure of the purpose. Why not charge 1 cap, then discharge and repeat.

I wish I knew. It would be something new to add to the idea arsenal. ;]

There are probably many different ways to gitter dun.

For me, Teets hasnt given enough info to figure that out yet.. 

I popped something in my Soundstream amplifier I was using during experiments.
I wasnt overloading the amp, something fed back to it. Its something in the preamp circuit. Output transistors are fine and power supply is good..
So I picked up another amp from my warehouse to continue. Got a few.

Useless.  A Marx Gen does not produce usable power, only high voltage with losses at each stage.
