I think the kick is the sudden increase of voltage when a switch is closed in a very high voltage circuit with load. I am not talking here the bemf because this kick is only occur on the first flow of current and it can produce without inductor and capacitor. Just closing of switch in a very high voltage circuit and you can produce this kick. It also produce radiant energy that causes a stinging sensation to the person who operate the switch. I read this somewhere on the net on tesla's document. Steven Mark also talking about this and he figured it out how to use this kick. The kick that based on tesla's discovery.

absolutly, You gave the correct answer. but there are several another types of kick, which nobody mentioned it before. Kick means free energy, several people (include Tito) successfully  find diffrent way to capture, hold and reproduce kicks, but nearly all of them are the variety of Tesla coil.  by the way, I'v seen nobody here really know where the free energy come from until today.

@weizisky: You make a good point, and the distinction between bemf and RE is important, I think. Is what you are referring to not the same as Tesla's insistence on a high voltage disruptive discharge?

Did not Tesla also use a magnetically quenched spark gap (with disruptive discharge) for harnessing radiant energy?

If we need the disruptive discharge to reproduce something along the lines of Steven Mark's TPU or Tito's apparatus, perhaps we need to find out how best to do it with the simple ingredients in either or both (coils, caps, diodes [and reed switch? - I think Teets mentioned that awhile back])

Would it be possible to use a reed switch as the spark gap, perhaps with a magnet close by?
Could the disruptive discharge still come from a decent sized capacitor?

There is also the element of push-pull that Tito mentioned very early on. I know some researchers are using a ground connection for the "pull" aspect - but maybe that's not important here.

There are actually two sources of kicks, and this one you are talking of is not the kick we are aiming for, sorry buddy.

only one component that we don't need anymore in this design and that is the "reed switch"


i'm only using this read switch when i'm using batteries. 


and instead of read switch why not use transistor ok?.

THE FREE ENERGY COMES FROM THE REACTION OF THE COIL FROM THE EXTRA COIL     


AND in terms of the sun,


Its the reaction of the EXTRA electron from the silicon by means of heat. 




and in term of Magnet,


Its the changing magnetic field that gives energy to the electron to move or flow.
