Well no need to worry about that circuit anymore, went up in smoke even had fire lol, I ordered a ssr optoisolated rated at 80 amps 200 amps surge current 50v, gonna drive it with my function generator.

SSR usually have a rather low frequency; at least what I saw when I was shopping

Dave45:  Tito did his stuff using tesla type switches. That's where I am re experiments. May I suggest you go down that route also, although I would be interested in looking at the spec of your ssr. Could you post a link please?

d3xor@ We don't need speed, we need power. If you look at Tesla's patents, High frequency is attained in make/break circuits.
Tesla has several 1896 patents that make the point.


In any case the igniter patent uses the principle anyway, and Tesla pulsed it at the speed of a car engine. maybe 3,000 rpm?


Are we doing good Tito?  What do you think?
