I built it !! Not even a puff of smoke !! 

I meant a bit like "Mythbusters" !!   Myth busted!!    No it just doesn't work for me. I tried all different transformer polarities etc. etc. Did you try it ??

Oh, sorry to hear that. Although normally I give the benefit of doubt for "unusual" circuits, setups etc, I do not start to build them right away, unless measurements are shown and I estimate it may be possible...

I think in this circuit, Switches S1 and S2 are expected to "click" precisely together, this means the appropiate relay contacts should be mechanically adjusted to close and open at the same moment. Or in case of active switches, the clock timing should be precisely controlled to achive that.

And if this is only a design idea as written, then every uploader showing such ideas should indicate: he or she has not tested it yet, or if they tested, what they found. 

Thanks for taking your time on this, hopefully DJ will appear again with some hints or results.

EDIT: of course with my above notice on the switches, I do not mean this circuit idea would keep the battery charged and that you could draw useful power from the AC side of the inverter...
