DO not pay your TV TAX, you don't need to.

Read this posting from The Daily Telegraph http://www.telegraph.co.uk/comment/3563646/Time-to-stand-up-to-the-TV-licence-bullies.html
Then go to http://www.tvlicensing.biz/phpBB3/index.php for great info

Get a REFUND on your license and then REFUSE access to TVL if they call. They have NO POWER to come into your home and you DO NOT NEED to let them in, FACT!

Detector vans are EMPTY and are a propaganda tool.

Don't Pay The TAX.

  Hi mindsweeper;
I'm in the US so I'm not familiar with GB's licensing? Do they make you pay to have a TV? that sounds outrageous, How much does it cost and is it per TV or house hold?
  Thanks Pete

My kids are in the UK for there schooling and the license fee is something like 120 uk pounds (I'm not sure of the exact fee), about 170 dollars. They are the instigators of this thread and I have to agree with them. They have stopped paying the TAX and refusing access to the people who check and collect the tax.

Many people in the UK are refusing to pay and I think they have a valid point, don't you ?

AhuraMazda

My view which applies to any country is that the governments must pay you to watch the TV because it is them who want to dupe you in to supporting their plans so they must pay you for brain washing you. Further, when you are duped into buying the crap advertised again the government is profitting so, they must pay you to watch.

People in countries in which there is no TV licencing must realise:"there is no such thing as a free lunch".

Aka

I hope the tax gets scrapped soon like the radio licence that everyone stopped paying years ago (or so my dad told me) seems it just got changed into the TV licence as it stands now

but I can actually see them starting this national ID database on everyone in the UK/world and then changing the TV licence to cover ALL electronic communications including the internet and mobiles which they have already said they want to save the emails/history/phone records on a database so I can see all that being linked into one big tracking system that hassle none payments all online via automatic fines and getting rid of the vans/door to door people so you can not defend the fine unless you go to court which will be such a hassle and make most people bow down and accept it

online TV makes the licence closer to being required for any computer or mobile phone (if it isn't already) so I can see it being an internet tax if it is not stopped from which you wont be able to use a radio, TV, Computer, or mobile without it

supporters say its good value for money as the bbc does not have adverts and creates "quality" programmes, but this argument does not hold up when you have the option to pay for view with the digital boxes... if its such good quality scrap the licence and put all those channels as pay for view and we can see how many people sign up for them

the licence is outdated in the digital age where access can be controlled...

TBH if I had my own house I wouldnt bother with a TV... I look whats on from time to time and I can hardly ever find anything even remotely interesting so I dont watch it much and could live without it easy... the internet is a bit different though... it has lots of information I quite like to have handy like if im cooking and forget a recipe i can look it up which is why I hope they dont try to licence it or make it any more restricted or tracked
