                     Hi !

The proposal  "Oscillatory leverage" (see up ...at "Some_Drafts"/text029.jpg ),is a simplified design, that can be tested easy.

It aims to show ,if we can make some more "steps",on the line of Milkovic's pendulum with a lever arrangement.

Milkovic uses s plain swinging motion, due to pendulum fulcrum's displacement along a limited arc.

The first step can be this: to experiment a different swinging motion, due to a full rotation (360 degrees) of the pendular mass.

In this situation,we employ a Milkovic's scheme, without any change.

The second step, requires a change: a single pendular mass, becomes a two pendular system(a switching long arm-short arm scheme).

The hope,is to get a "self"...

...is a simple composition of a mechanical pulsatory oscillator(the "red" and "green" equal masses, play the "long arm-short arm" game, intended to become "self"),and of a mechanical amplifier(output>input for a Milkovic's alike swinging arrangement).

An important fact is that Milkovic introduced a new kind of lever, working in non-linear dynamics.

      A large swinging motion of a pendulum,with a fixed fulcrum,is a "classic" model in non-linear dynamics.

The same motion of a pendulum, with a mobile/free fulcrum, becomes more attractive and inviting to reconsider the so called "chaos"/unexpected reaction of inertia.

If Milkovic's device works as an amplifier(output>input),this is the right solution for the topic of this forum,because...in my opinion, the "long arm-short arm" model, can't supply too much power.

        So,as in electronics,for a small signal/oscillation we need some "help"(amplification,enlargement).

If,by happy chance we have the second step(amplifier),all that we need is a new chance for the first step : a mechanical  oscillator(gravity powered device)

Take this ,as a personal opinion, only.

.....as a basic concept , can be a "key" to release your mind from the "wheel " image obsession.

Let's make a short visit in a wonderful "garden" of leverage . at :

Maybe , this Kinetic Art Exhibition , can help you to imagine a manner to change gravity potential in a kinetic one ...as a continuous "self" motion.

Remind that lever is the starting  point of mechanics (statics).

An oscillatory lever ...can be a new starting point (dynamics) .

.....is a way to imagine a gravity powered device , easy to be tested , if we "copy" the design of an oscillating steam-engine , at :
http://blargh.wpi.edu./~jski/projects/steam-engine/Engine.html
If we have in mind , as a common starting point , a slider crank mechanism :
http://kmoddl.library.cornell.edu/model.php?m=13
...we can develop :
-an oscillating cylinder steam-engine mechanism , playing a repetitive expansion of the steam pressure (we have it...).
-a self-oscillating lever(age)...due to ("self") repetitive "expansion" of the gravity unbalance (we need it...).
