Indeed Tesla run some experiments as those, but do not remember this one specifically. Is there too much trouble to post the precise reference?

Anyway, before theory goes too far, any serious earth energy investigation should include scanning through earth frequencies and see what is there to get.

@Baroutologos  Sorry for the long essay, anyone who knows their RF circuit theory will have been bored as you'll be very familiar with it already.  I felt obliged to give a fuller explanation of how resonant LC circuits are comparable to antennae.  I make no claim to be right but I tried to justify my case with references and hope I always stated when I was expressing my opinions.  The speculation section wasn't needed and I wish I hadn't included it, it didn't help the explanation.

Good theory is the basis of good practice.  Experimenting in the darkness by trial and error can be a long, difficult and tiring task.  My intention is to cast some light in a different direction, for others to look and see if anything of value was there.

@Core  I'm happy for us to have different opinions, its a forum, I didn't expect to agree with everyone, but your abridged reply is terse, some might say a little rude. I would have appreciated a referenced counter argument.  Rolling your eyes and saying no does not constitute much of a reply. 

The number of people who have claimed to recreate this device are small, often long dead, have been branded as frauds or give cryptic explanations (some all three).  If his was easy, most of the experimenters here would have already succeeded and if one avenue doesn't reveal an answer, surely it is worth exploring another?  Much of Tesla's efforts were in radio/RF/AC power, I think that makes them valid areas of investigation.
