Maybe it is some circuit like this ?

The HV (High Voltage) circuit box is the green box in this picture,
the capacitor is still inside the green box,
if there is at all a capacitor...!?

Just guessing, but something like this it must be:

Well, the coils are the resonator,
inside the green box is probably just the
High Voltage production circuit to pulse the
coils via the sparkgap.
