It is exactly like in Kapanadze´s green box demonstration
Sure Smith shows it too, but he does not say that the earth ground cable has to go through the transformer tube (apart from that misleading frequency correction resistor thing).

Actually if there is resonance phenomena in the core then this is remotely similar to Floyd Sweet´s device.
