A very convincing argument.....so it isnt only CFLs that can be lit on 10 of rated input - its filaments also.....

Have you tried with halogen bulbs juju??  do you have any handy???  Are they the same...just about 10% necessary to light them>????

Did you try your setup without the kapagen coil (just mains/MOT/and load), and get the same result as you did with your kapagen coil?  I didnt, but thats maybe cos i was using CFLs....or perhaps i just made a mistake.....

hmmm, as your are using a NST(i dont have one), just the MOT, so maybe in your setup the COIL can contribute to lower the voltage a little bit, and rise some current, thats why your load didnt show up without the coil. Because the NST will output high voltage but just a few miliAmps.

concerning the MOT... it allready outputs a considerable amount of current, thats why my setup will show the same effect onload, with or without the coil!

EDIT: if you have doubts in how to light an incandescent bulb with your NST ask user dragon, he is very kind guy, and putted is setup working with an NST!

I appreciate your efforts in your experiment to show bulbs lit with 10% input power.  Now, if you go one step further, as we see with the Joule Thief circuit, if you pulse the energy on and off fast enough so the human eye "thinks" it is on all the time you can use even less energy for the same light output.  Usually something above 60 hz or higher will work.

Off topic for here maybe but still a good way to use a lot less energy for the same light output.
