Step voltage...
imagine yourself standing next to high voltage power line that fall down in just 30f from you.
As long as you jump in two feet at the same time ( the best only one foot) you safe( yet..........depends from the voltage level)
Be careful  do not fall down .
But if you  make step (and/or  catch branch of the tree) the voltage difference is going to kill you( possibly)

I found several articles on "Leaking Coax Cables".
Very interesting.

It appears the Leak can be directed based on the side of the coax you put the hole.
Is this correct in your opinion?

Yes it can, by that token only the surface of the coil (and/or any other desirable object) might be a part of (capacitive or inductive  or both) coupling
And only at the leak points)
