In any case, if two measurements are made, firstly with the LF winding and secondly with the HF winding, then any frequency peak that "moves" between these two measurements can be attributed to the artifacts of the sensing winding/coil.
Conversely, any frequency peak that "stays" in the same position can be attributed to the core and Transverse Coil (copper strips).

Totally agree with you as it makes total sense.

By pulsing the copper strip, and assuming ferrite has a core ringing (singing) frequency, then anything winded on it should be able to pick it up ("hear it"). Obviously the more turns ones will collect it stronger (but will have even stronger their own LC peaks and harmonics messing things up).

A solution to deal one and for all with this problem is to white noise the copper strip (as possitioned originaly) and to to have another copper strip (or 1-2 turns winding) wound as a normal winding. No other windinng added till then.
The first one will act as transmiter the second as a receiver.

Since their natural L (C + C2 of SG parasitic capacitance or C3 of spectrum analyzer better know it) resonant peaks will be in high Mhz-s range (that can be calculated and spotted on any decent specrum analyzer) go search for a lower one in the 1-2 Mhz range that normally it should not be there and its amplitude cannot be justified.

Then you have your "bell's frequency". After that explicit find, proceed.

ps: Personally i plan at gettng my hands upon old TV sets yokes more or less similar to the STAAAR team used. Its well known that the larger a piece of anything, the slower it resonates.

I'm new here, not native english speaker, so I have some problems to understand evrything.
I would like to make a replication of your device and do some testing and here is first problem - wich feritte shoul I use. I have two of them, one has lower hight/biger diameter, the other biger hight/lower diameter than one that you used. (I added link to picture of two ferittes)
