Thats a very good question.

Well lets suppose that he can pull more into the system ie has a surplus of energy. All he needs to do to kick off the process is energize the process usually the 9v or 12v battery then let it free run after that. We have seen evidence of an isolation transformer in the backyard video. The transformer and diode bridge in the case. That transformer is a special isolation transformer. I suspect it was his friend who showed him the winding to make the special isolation transformer. But I am speculating since TK doesn't want to share. The diode bridge would make the energy needed by the supporting circuitry a one way path so it only takes what it needs from the total energy gained. This is why he needed an inverter also. Which could change the dc back to ac and split that for two inputs. One for timing and one for main current to the circuitry.

Thank you. Can you put your idea above into a circuit schematic? I'm particularly interested in how, once the process kicks-off with as 9V or 12V battery, it then free runs. Also, why do you say the isolation transformer is special; please include in your schematic the winding configuration and phase relationship of the windings.

   Tesla's accelerating electric fields were first developed in spark gaps in open air.  The first radio waves were generated by spark gaps in open air.  Turn on a radio to an am station and switch a light bulb on and off.  The electric field of two contacts approaching each other with opposite polarization on them is very capable of ionizing and accelerating electrons.
The binding energy of the electron is radiated just like the binding energy of the neucleus is radiated.  Plants use the electric field polarization associated with ultraviolet light wavelengths to first ionize an electron then accelerate the electron and then transport this binding energy and accelerated mass through various chemical reactions to split water.  How about the electric field polarization of two contacts with 30,000vdc being accelerated towards each other.  Could this efield ionize and accelerate electrons WITHOUT any current flowing from cathode to anode?  The electrons would gather on the anode.  This would tend to drive out any remaining electrons in the anode metal.  The result would be current flow in the charging circuit not produced by the line.  The electrons entering the anode did not come from the cathode therefore the original work done charging the capacitor is regainable.   The cathode anode capacitor needs to be shorted to another capacitor before the gap becomes entirely conductive and sparks over - converting energy from the supply into noise light and heat.  The small gain from the electron binding energy dwarfed by the radiative losses of the sparkover.

What if you used the right cap. with the right distace spark gap, to let it pulse at 50 times a second..  That would make a ghetto 50 hz,  wouldn't it??

I heard that Tesla used Mica capacitors, because of the dielectric quality, or for a very quick discharge for spark gap.  Turns off quick, perfect pulse, like an Impulse waveform, old unused now a days..
