Dear Verpies,
Yes it would appear so!!! Any idea why the setup works so much better with a Switch mode bench power supply than with a battery?

I have now got L4 completely disconected. Using a 12 V battery to drive Royer and 2 earth connections, one at Ground side of 3 turn primary. Earth 2 at isolation transformer L3 leg, I have a dim light.
Non of this makes any sense to me as the other end of L3 is open circuit.

It looks like you have induction into L2 with a direct path back from the lamp to the ground side of L1, so I think you should see some illumination.

Cheers for the reply, this device is insane it keeps throwing things at me. Since last post I laminated a sheet of Baco foil HD and brought out a tab. I sleeved this into the tube and saw more light.
But please try out my idea with the Royer. I know Verpies has dismissed it as a simple transistor transformer but I think there is more to it!!

I have also been trawling the web with regard to the similarities between this device and the Hendershot generator and it would appear that L4 should have "exactly" 1/4 the length of wire that L3 was wound with.

But as I said the most perplexing thing is why the device shows a much better performance with the Bench PS than with a battery???

thanks for your update.

The Royer oscillator shown replacing the two transistor flip-flop in post 17297 is driving a flyback which in turn drives the spark gap but I don't think this is a TV type flyback coil and probably more powerful.

When powering your setup with a bench supply and getting a bright lamp, is the circuit as shown on the schematic or have you connected the other ground to the L3 leg to T1?

I'll do some experimentation with a Royer osc on the front-end.

If electron is dispersed depends of energy level due to x-ray ( SPARK OF  TK IS OUR  XRAY source but any  ion chamber  even in  coil capacitor  due to high voltage  )
Depends from the  fact  that  it might be  as energetic to go to core of an atom or less energetic to play with K orbit of an atom   and/or affecting valance electron
We are dealing in physical  hole in that atom structure- that hole is than filled  with  electron fro different orbit.
As electron from higher orbit has  higher energy level than  it losses energy  in quantum when it files the  hole. 
We are than dealing  with relaxation - but as energy must be conserved than whatever is atom manifestation  from outside
it is  energy.
(Most of the times  when electron loses its orbit produces photon= energy= no mass. and energy is  huge.)

Than makes  atom to produce at  minimum Xray back  at maximum Beta. Gamma.( I'm not sure  if  Neutron ..well if it hits nuclei.) everything depends on energy  level of "destructive" hit.

Most of these  are  cheap but because it is no software for it and they are no color  even if model is the same. without manual and software it is nonsense to buy it as you get nothing out of it.
Most of them are not working one if not all of them.
I have got the most newest one from  that series. Actually I do not see  3D in  software here but  I look closer I have  just  got it.
Yes 2 ribbon cable are chewed  but that is ok.
It takes some really thinking  to find how to use flow spectrometer and adapt it to  my needs.... well doable
