I would imagine that the current capacity of the secondary of a pulsed primary transformer would depend on the amount of electrons, hence the mass of copper, experiencing the magnetic field change.  Tesla was into voltage gain.  (Why utilities don't use Tesla transformers at their plants is beyond me)  Voltage is a measure of force.  Tesla would take his high voltage and force alot of different things to occur.  Including but not limited to electrical sound waves in the Earth.  Which when listened to by remote ears would result in transfer of force from point a to point b without the use of wires.  A big monopole charged up to umpteen coulumbs of charge appears to effect surrounding charges. Even the charges residing in space due to the presence of an electric field traversing this space.  The reason Tesla was defamed was because of the magnifying transmitter.  As alternative energy scources are being developed at astounding rates there is one choke hold the power monopolies have and that is transmission.  Tesla envisioned these times and spent a good part of his life and rescources developing the magnifying transmitter.  Lets hope that the future is his.
