There are many researchers who had things working on the bench
Connected to power supplies and other power sources ..


When circuits were designed to replace power supplies (which should have allowed system to run)
Inventors spent unbelievable efforts and time ( in some cases "still trying"
To find the system could not be autonomous of grid power connections or bench
Power supplies..
However most would accept a battery ( startup) or ?
I write here about open source persons I am aware of ..
