A lot of buildings are going up here in S. F.   Why?   No one seems to be spending money, but, as your sources say(??), the major national economies of the world are being propped up artificially by something like infrastructure improvements alone---whether or not they're needed or worthwhile.
       They can't do that forever, since they're borrowing more and more money to do all this.

Things we can do as posted by a reader on an article on retirement.I'll tell you why so many boomers in early (forced) retirement are struggling now. They were the Yuppies of the 80's who made a lot of money and spent it like water because they thought the bonanza would never end - BMW's, overly large houses in gated neighborhoods, country club memberships, the most expensive private schools for the kids. Bad enough but they were especially hard hit in the crash of '08 which destroyed half of what they had left. My wife and I both work but have always lived as if we only had 1 salary and lived very frugally. If I should be forced into early retirement tomorrow, we'd survive just fine. Think grasshopper and the ant.

I personally know people who lost $60,000 in one year being stupid with their finances.Not in the stock market either.Add the stock market losses to that and you get trouble.The problem with stocks is you keep holding out for higher and higher gains.Since no one knows the future the time to sell has often passed without you being aware of it.I found another dime today.People here are not noticing when they exit their cars.Any change they may have dropped that is.
