It was strange to me that they were left behind too.I found two bullets in a back bedroom and all 17 others scattered up and down the steps to the basement.

Were they spent casings or live rounds?  Unless you heard about cop & drug gang battles, they wouldn't need AR-15/M-16 ammo, right?

Trash was everywhere.The stairs had about four bags of kitchen trash they just tossed down the stairs instead of taking it out of the house.I do not know the drug users or sellers in the neighborhood. triffid

The actions are typical for bums and gangsters.  Be careful, though.  You're outnumbered.

last time i bought .223 it was as little as 8 dollars a box, its common and cheap, good for varmints on the farm.
yes that was a while back.
don't get yourself shot waving around a pellet gun.

If you look on You Tube and other web articles, you can modify some pellet guns and paint guns(different ammo also, like harder than paint balls, pepper balls? ;]) to do more than anyone would want to be hit with considering. Just thoughts on alternatives to deadly weapons. 

I remember a 22ga pelet gun my step dad had. 10 pump, real wood stalk, This thing was as close to a 22 riffle I had ever seen. Wont shoot through schools. But will shoot through tool sheds.  ;]

By the way, dont set any type of booby traps. The law wont be on your side if proven.  ;]

You can rig a laser sight on the pistol.  ;]  And a scope does wonders for any gun.  Shot a 44 magnum , 8 in barrel with a scope. Bad to the bone.  I love to shoot but dont like what some people do with them.
