A bit of tax info I did not know.This post comes from another person so the I is not me.

Talk about taxes. I'm a disabled military retiree who lives in Japan, my income is my military disability and retirement pay to include social security disability. My wife works and pays Japanese income tax to include the Japanese social security tax. What is amazing is that the US tax code says that her income must be included in calculating the amount of social security tax I must pay to the US because we are filling jointly, although she's paying Japanese income tax to include Japanese social security, the US tax code says that foreign earned income of up to $185,800 for couples who file jointly can be excluded. While living in Japan we are forced to pay double in Social Security Tax, she is taxed as the head of the household with me being her dependent, at the same time I have to include the income she payed tax on in japan to be used to calculate the amount of SS tax I must pay in the US. I don't mind paying my fair share in income taxes which I do, but this is ridiculous being taxed twice for the same thing.

I'm hearing a persistent rumor that Sept to Nov. of this year---especially later, rather than soone---is when the economy will take a real hard kick in the balls, so to speak.   I might add, "Dr." No(wak), the dastardly neo-Nazi, predicted something similar.   And, his time frame was the same with respect to the worth of the dollar.   "2-3 cents" is what he said.
