Free Energy will change the World - Free Energy will stop Climate Change - Free Energy will give us hope
and we will not surrender until free energy will be enabled all over the world, to power planes, cars, ships and trains.
Free energy will help the poor to become independent of needing expensive fuels.
So all in all Free energy will bring far more peace to the world than any other invention has already brought to the world.

Yes, definitely
Possibly, in the long run
No, it will worsen
Undecided

..Especially countries like Iraq ad Iran.   They'll probably use our financial problems against us any way they can.

triffid and all others,
Speaking of Iraq in the immediate post above, Mosul Dam in Iraq is about ready to burst, and if it does:  500,000 people are in the path of an inland 'tidal wave' to the Persian Gulf.
Look at these:

       http://english.alarabiya.net/en/News/middle-east/2016/03/14/Engineers-race-to-stop-collapse-of-massive-Mosul-dam.html

A disaster like this might have unpredictable effects on the economy of Southwest Asia and nearby regions, as well.   Baghdad would be badly damaged, at the very least.   Outlying political/religious/economic adversaries or enemies might be encouraged to do unknown thing to possibly take advantage of an unstable situation.
Who, what, when, where and why?   I admit this is speculation, but if the dam breaks, it'll be something I've only see once in my life:  The Baldwin Hills Dam Disaster.

I was a teenager in Southern Calif. when the news broke and the local news services covered the developing story in real time.   I never forgot the experience.   People weren't killed in astounding numbers, but the damage to Baldwin Hills downstream was, say, hundreds of millians

I'm merely a theoretical electronics engineer/technician for now, since I have no extra money for experimentation, but I was a professional electronics/computer technician in the past.
As a result, I have a lot of ideas, but no hard test results to back them up---for now.  That could change if I get a job locally in the Bay Area of California.

FMI (For My Information), I finally figured out---absolutely; proof positive---why the S.F. building is specifically happening.   The tech boom in the South Bay and "Silicon Valley" continues to this day.   Thousands of 'yuppies' (as it were), have come to the Bay Area and S.F. looking for work.
(My Dad was an engineer and he did the same thing in Southern Calif., having moved there from Seattle.   It's stupid to me.   The building construction companies probably borrowed a real, actual fortune to pay for construction, but what then?!?   The average wage earner isn't participating in the economic recovery and they're the ones who outnumber the speculators, cops and National Guard.   It's been predicted that this is another building 'bubble'that will collapse like others did before it.
The building boom and the speculation following it are the reasons people are being displaced by staggering rent increases and condo renovations---and the like.   Displacement of the elderly is about a death sentence for some of the oldest if they're on the streets.   In 10-15 years, middle aged seniors on the streets will be dying from exposure to the outdoor 'elements'.
The city managers of S.F. know this, but the real estate speculators don't care at all that people are suffering.   The speculators aren't suffering, so that really don't give a (middle finger flip)---the most polite way I thought I could put it.

As further proof that this worldwide economic problem hasn't gone away, take a look at this:

Yeah, right.   The Chinese, as I said before, want what they can't have:  Economic control of the world's resources---as much as possible (AMAP).   So, it's coming again and it'll probably be worse than last time.   Gain as much independence as possible, in as many ways as possible.   Your life might depend on it if everything 'goes to hell', as the adage goes.

This week on public tv(9-1 here in st.louis,mo) I watched Nova's video"The Wandering Lions of India".It appears that a daring new experiment is underway in the Gir National Forest. It seems that Lions and people are coexisting outside of the Park's boundaries. If a lion wanders into town or village its no big deal.Other wildlife are wandering into town also.As long as lions are not killing people they are left alone(they are watched however).A cow once in a while is killed. But its considered no big deal.If this idea spreads throughout the world it could be that man and wildlife can coexist in much tighter quarters.Than any of us had thought in the past.triffid
