The paranoia displayed by gravityblock is pretty extreme. There is nothing at all "sneaky" or "deceitful" about this. It's fun to say that you could have thought of it first, but the fact is that you didn't. This is not some big pharmaceutical company that is trying to use patents to keep people from being able to get generic medications.  I would watch the potential libel here. Saying things like that about a small startup can be damaging to people who don't at all deserve to have their reputations damaged. I've seen people sued over less viscousness than this.

I'm paranoid about someone re-inventing the wheel?  LOL.  This being your first post and the way your defending this company, it wouldn't surprise me if your not a representative of this company and threatening me with a libel suit.

This is nothing new.  It's an array of magnets just like halbach arrays, and they even say so in their own website that it is an array of magnets.  The only difference is two sets of arrays are used together.

I could care less who invents something first.  I can't be libel for saying something that is true.  So, basically you saying anyone who does a review or publishes an article that is negative to a company or it's products can be sued,  LOL.  That is being extremely paranoid in my opinion.

"Being able to program the magnets" along with other similar statements is deceitful.  Let them bring a law suit, and I will file a counter suit for deceitful and fraudulent claims and I am sure the investors will back me and follow suit once they realize it's a scam.  This is a business.  Businesses always put a spin on something even on the smallest of things.  It's about money and investors.

Do you know that you can now be sued on patent infringement for using magnets in certain configurations, even very simple configurations?  This includes 2 sets of magnets placed parallel to each other where each side has an opposite pole than the other side.  This would be patent infringement.  It's not paranoia, it's fact.

We're a society of people who sue.  What a way to be.  Nobody can have a negative opinion anymore.  LOL

Below is my failed attempt at drawing a simple configuration of magnets in 3D that is patent infringement against this company.  Basically, any combination where both sets would align with each other in different configurations or patterns is now patent infringement.

Thank you so very much for standing up and fighting for your own rights.  The way things are going, the working people will have nothing to hold on to.  Not even an arrangement of magnets, LOL.  As you can see in the illustration, they should get the Nobel Prize for their "Great Physics Discovery".  I think not.   If your a representative of this company, then go file your suit!

Two days after registering, PLA has yet to make a comment on any other thread.  It really appears he just registered to defend this company and to make threats.  If this is the case, then it really shows what their true business model is, making threats and filing suits.

In fact, I've had many forum members ask for my e-mail address over the last few weeks out of the blue.  Any member will be given a false e-mail address.

I'm really tired of corporations trying to rule and suppress the people with their money.  They just want more money, it's never enough.  Microsoft would have millions of people in court for negative comments about their company and products.

Cedar Ridge Research (CRR) is into fast tracking and protecting intellectual property rights.  They don't care nothing about the truth, they only care about their financial bottom line.

This paranoia is unbelievably silly. I just live in the same city and have been reading various blogs and news stories about the company and the magnets to learn more. I have no threats to make, I was just mentioning that I have seen a lot of libel suits lately because of this kind of thing. I've seen two just in the past four months from local companies.

It's kind of shocking to see that people are this upset about really nothing at all. So because I disagree, I'm a corporation? Seriously? I have an opinion, and it's perfectly valid.

You know absolutely nothing about the company at all, and comparing it to Microsoft is beyond laughable. This level of paranoia is unhealthy and ignorant. But, I guess that's to be expected from people who say things like "they don't care nothing." Pick up a book once in a while. Education is the only way to elevate you from your current status of pig lurking around message boards and spouting nonsense to make yourself feel important.

@PLA:

I never said  I didn't care about nothing, (I said I didn't care who's idea this was first).  I never said I thought of this idea first, (It was known prior to the inception of this company or their research).  Lawsuits is the American way of doing things, from what I read and see on the news in my country.  This is not a breakthrough in physics like they claim on their website.  This affect with magnets was discovered by Mallison in 1973.

In the 1980s, the late Klaus Halbach, a physicist at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, invented the Halbach array to focus accelerator particle beams."

The humble refrigerator magnet, brushless motors, magnetic coupling, magnetic bearings is all based on this affect of magnetic arrays.  The arrays are also a key component of the Inductrack maglev system, wiggler magnets used in particle accelerators and free electron lasers.

Although I feel like their marketing and advertising of their magnetic array structures  are misleading, they do have an excellent product.  They should have a huge market, since the array's could be customized and mass produced at lower costs.

I am sure they are or was unaware of the halbach arrays at the time of their research and discovery.  I could only imagine the excitement of their experiments which led them to the structured magnetic arrays.  Many times I have re-discovered on my own what others before me had already discovered.  It happens to everyone and this company is not exempt from this happening to them either.

In my opinion, their structured magnetic arrays and the halbach arrays are the same technology.

I may not know a lot about the company, but I do know about the technology because I have done a lot of research on halbach arrays prior to even hearing about the company.

I wish them the best, but some of their marketing claims are outrageous and misleading in my opinion.  The majority of companies have similar marketing and advertising claims that are misleading to the end consumers or investors.  Most companies pay copyrightors alot of money to make their products or services appear to be more amazing than they really are in reality.  That is the nature of business.  Please, don't take any offense to my opinion.  I will respect yours.

Take care,

GB

I appreciate the comment. I was starting to think that this forum was a hostile environment. When it comes to any innovation, people will have very differing opinions about its use, its value and just how innovative it is.
