That is very interesting... That having these opposing pole "sections" within the same metal piece, will create a force that is 150% that of conventional attractions when mated-up with a piece that is oppositely programmed.

I wonder, if instead of having specially programed regions within a single structure, that small cylinder-shaped Neo's could be clustered together to create the same effect.....

This could be useful: Stronger face-to-face "pull".... Yet weaker shearing strength "side-to-side".

It is indeed like placing many micro-magnets together to design your own field. You will get unexpected results.

it would be interesting to find out if nitinol memory metal can be alloyed with high magnetic materials to produce a Magnetic Memory metal that changes shapes according to magnetic field interactions.

I believe so.  It appears it is nothing more than halbach arrays with certain complimentary or anti-complimentary patterns that will lock and unlock according to the pattern or code.  Take a look at Figure 3 & 4 of the Correlation Theory on CMR website and you will see how the patterns work together and is nothing more than two halbach arrays that are mirrored to each other, http://www.crr-llc.com/cmr/corrtheo.html .  Compare figure 3 & 4 to some of the configurations of the halbach arrays on wiki and you will notice it is the same technique, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Halbach_array .  Here's the page on the coding theory of "barker codes", http://www.crr-llc.com/cmr/codetheory.html .  Barker codes are used in communication devices.  Wiki link for the barker codes, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Barker_code

Take the halbach array or an array of electromagnets, then add patterns of different polarities to each individual array that are mirrored to each other that works as a key and you have a patent (LOL). 

I believe the barker codes would be used in an array of electromagnets to generate a pattern or code in real time according to the desired application.  This can be used in real time with electromagnets or can be used to program the permanent magnets when they are manufactured.

The permanent magnets are not programmable in real time and are programmed at the time of manufacturing.  They can be custom made according to the desired application.  Halbach arrays with these same patterns and codes can already do the same thing.  Instead of building the halbach arrays after the magnets are manufactured, they are creating halbach arrays with different polarity patterns at the time of manufacturing.
