i heard about it- not actually seen it

a welder had a cavernous workshop to heat in winter
he supended an iron concave disk and got it red hot with his torch
hung a container with drip-feed and set it to drip on the plate
the oil would ignite on contact and would maintain red hot temp
want more heat?  make it drip faster
got his oil free from mechanic repair shops
hung a chimney too as well as it was fully-enclosed

anyone heard of this concept-does it work?
