Free Energy will change the World - Free Energy will stop Climate Change - Free Energy will give us hope
and we will not surrender until free energy will be enabled all over the world, to power planes, cars, ships and trains.
Free energy will help the poor to become independent of needing expensive fuels.
So all in all Free energy will bring far more peace to the world than any other invention has already brought to the world.

Funny thing TOTO
you rattle off names of men dedicated to selfless service to their fellow man ,that spent thousands of dollars and thousands of hours dedicated to open sourcing and sharing their work to make a better world.

And in the next breathe you pat a man on the back who at best is a crafty self serving
money monger.

this man is not one of these men , and the precedent  being set here ,where he makes a cash grab on the work performed by others will hinder "sharing" greatly in this open source community.

the only winners here will be lawyers in the long run as well as suppression of technologies at the patent offices.

and that is the real stomach turner here............

Just one mans opinion

Chet
I totally agree with you  I commented on a draw with a BIG BUT  ( BUT TO THINK OF IT AS  AN OPEN SOURCE FROM THE VERY BEGINNING ...  A WORD OF HONOR  )   noble mans word without hutring other people feeling
As Gbluer has decided to put on his developer kits ... I ll just support him in anyway I can  ... Every inspiring comment from Slayer is an A   in a score card for my part and like a good pat in the back  :)

TOTO
with all respect to Slayer and his present situation .

this highlights a huge hole in the open source concept .
Few things could hurt this open source cause so effectively and quickly as what this man is attempting to do.

I am absolutely stupefied by this!

And then to spit in Slayers face with a foul mouth?
provocative gesture indeed.........

Whats for yah ne're go bye yah
Thanks Grandma

Hi Ramset
I may be misunderstood  maybe my english is not so good  but with all good intentions I am for Open source( meant for the other guy and not Slayer )  as many of us here have longed for
I am sorry if I was misterpreted but I am for Slayer all the way  my comment is just to thank every contributor in the replication and development
no need to rant on me as I am in your side...  as I said totally agree   to respect open source   .......as i am still a newbie to this field
Peace love light   as Skywatcher always say    :) :) :)
Gbluer and others had taught me the level of electronics knowledge based on shared experience bad and good ...and I repeat I see Gbluer a GURU with great respect..  almost all  his builds  I have replicated so no reason for me to say bad words to my mentor      cheers

Chet:

I don't really understand you.  For one thing there is the concept of doing things open source.  By definition, nobody is supposed to be able to stop someone from doing what they want to do with the open source information.  Is this correct?  If you want to make an effort to use open source information for profit, what's wrong with that?  The information is still open source.  For example, doesn't Linux work like that?

Now, you can use an open source circuit to make an efficient LED driver.  At the same time there are hundreds of companies that will sell you constant-current or constant-voltage LED drivers.  So what's the difference?

What I really don't understand is that I am under the impression that that ridiculous "resonant bells" electric water heater was also an open source project.  Am I correct?  Then you were dealing with that man that was supposed to make a film and show the world his magic resonant bell water heater and that was all hush-hush.  It was all a Big Secret and I believe that nothing ever came of it.  I don't recall a single peep out of you complaining in that particular case.

As a general comment, you can't forget that these circuits are high school "science project" material.  Nobody in their right mind would light up their room with one of these circuits.  So what are they really useful for?

Look, supposing that I design and sell a baking soda "volcano" kit.  You buy my kit and show your kids a baking soda volcano.  You don't have to go running around and get all the ingredients, they are all there in one box.  That in itself represents value.

So, should someone go after me because I "stole" the recipe for the baking soda volcano?  The "Slayer Exciter" is much closer to the baking soda volcano than some alleged piece of intellectual property as you seem to think.  It's an oscillator driving a step-up transformer.  You can't get much more basic than that.

Like I said, to a certain extent I feel some sympathy for Gary Bluer.  But honestly I support anybody that can take a simple idea and run with it and make some money from it.  There is indeed a market for people that want to do some "turn key" tinkering with electronics.  That's in contrast to the many sleazy fake free energy schemes where parasitic people suck money out of other gullible people.  That I abhor.  And a great irony here is that I am sure I have seen you in support of these sleazy parasitic people because you don't want to believe that they are bad and you will simply stick your head in the sand and cross your fingers and hope that they are good.  I don't sense any concern from you in these cases where gullible people are getting ripped off.

I will give you another example.  Suppose somebody sells some kits that allow you to make flip-flops.  The kit would consist of a few transistors, resistors, wires, a tiny circuit board and some LEDs.  Wow!  If you bought a few of these kits you could make a binary counter!  Would you have a problem with that?  I am going to assume that your answer would be no.  However, what if we imagine that there was a thread on OU devoted to making transistor-based flip-flops.   Let's suppose that the thread had been running for two years.  Now suppose somebody sells some kits that allow you to make transistor-based flip-flops.  Do you now get all up in arms that someone is daring to sell flip-flop kits?

This is supposed to be a place for the free exchange of ideas where things are open sourced.  If you take an open source idea and you ADD VALUE to that idea by making a turn-key kit and selling it, what's wrong with that?  The simple fact is that certainly there are people out there that would like to play with the stuff, but they don't want to build it themselves, they want to buy a kit.  That's a legitimate market that anybody can tap into.

Anybody reading this can make their own "Slayer Exciter" kits and market and sell them.  But to do that it takes real work.  If you are crafty you might be able to do relatively little work for good financial gain.  As long as you are not lying about your product more power to you.

The bottom line is that somebody got smart and decided to try to make some money selling simple kits.  That person simply put in the effort.  He is never going to turn this into a big business and his comments about "sourcing and securing parts" are comical.  Anybody heard of DigiKey?  Do you know that DigiKey is just one player in the multi-billion-dollar electronics component industry?  There are probably more than 100 viable and still available MOSFETs or transistors that can be used in this circuit.
