These guys have it figured out...

They use backwoods, junkyard ingenuity to make their own power.  They build Permanent Magnet 3 Phase Alternators out of discarded brake disk rotors, put a propeller on them, and then hoist them into the wind.  Its not just one thing either, they have lots of different designs.  I am going to post a few here, but you should go oolge their website.  What they are doing with junk is truly amazing.
