I guess I think of crystal batteries kind of like the ITER fusion
reactor...A guarantee that if *nothing* else succeeds (and it's
doing pretty well, from what I can tell)...there will always be
some fall-back position. I mean *when* do you attempt to
acquire an energy source that lasts forever?...sometime in the
future. So I really don't give a hoot what the specifications are.
The specifications that you have now seem highly desirable.

My biggest fear is that because ions enhance conductivity
lowering the resistivity of the cells that you will come to
somekind of compromise and get some in there that also
enable undesirable unidirectional chemical reactions...the
ionizer water is worst offender, but there could be others,
I don't know what they are off hand...molten sulfer?

Look, when you are an expert...like you are...and you've
spent time persuing a goal...like you have been doing....
don't be surprised when you incrementally succeed...
and don't trivialize what you accomplished...that is all.

Hello I am Benjamin and I am a nwebie to this site and i think what you are doing is verry good and that you make real crystal cells as well as you can..it is astonishing...I am fascinated about these cells and was wondering if i could have the a look at the instructions of your pyrite cell...I have the pyrite,rochelle salts and a bit of tourmaline and i just wanted to have a go at making one myself ..so i have a few answers if that is ok mr middleton? use last name as i dont say ian as I was not told to do so in school and it is more formal
1 what temperature does thye mix need to be to melt all of the componants together?
2 what voltage do you use to zap through the cell? and how long do you need to zap it ? is it dc? you zap it with?
3 what are the exact amounts of ingreidients needed ie milligrams ect
4 do you need to shake/stirr the ingreidients before putting voltage through?
Sorry for all this...but i am verry interested in your pyritecell and other cells...i am only doing this for myself and no one else...i will not distribute any if none of this info to anyone else..it is purely because of my interest you can trust me in this.. could you post it on the forum as i cant seem to get my emails straight and i dont know if you cansend me the info ..not because i dont want you to just because i didnt hit the email me button by mistake  i have some ideas for compunds these are ideas only as i dont have these ingredients at hand

Here is what I think he does;

zeroth - rinse all ingredients in distilled water to remove any
    salt left by previous salt water rinses. - you can't do this with
    cement, sugar ect.
first - grind the ingredients to as fine of powders as you can get
     What ingredients and what percentage? That would be telling^^^.
second - make a "mud pie" by mixing (stir) all with water
third - pour into a mold and install the electrodes.
fourth - bake the devices - look, you are never going to get these
    ingredients to "melt together". They just need to "cohere." I would
    just set a standard oven on maximum temperature. Anything
    else would require a specialized oven.
fifth - apply 3KVdc electret polarizing domain alignment voltage for
    1/2 day, note it might be possible to use aluminum foil sticking
    on a CRT white blanked screen to safely get HV.
sixth - let the devices sit idle for several days to allow them
    to domain voltage re-equalize.
seventh - I'd like to see a second low temperature bake out cycle as to
    drive out any newly absorbed water. logic: (no ionic compounds +
    no water) = no free ions & no unidirectional chemical reactions to
    cause discharge
eighth - cool and environmentally seal - if you don't seal them first
    you get water vapor, then carbon dioxide, then carbonic acid (ions) ,
    then comes the beasties, then there's no way in Hatis you will figure
    figure out what you've got.
ninth - write up birth certificates and finalize testing protocol.

@das: You will find the ingredients listings for most of my cells on this thread. I think from page 3 to page 25 you will see the pyrites cell and a few others with the construction methods.
I hope you find them helpful.

@mscoffman: I'm not sure about the "Sir" bit. Anyway well done. You've hit upon a number of pitfalls when it comes to making these things. Impurities you want, unwelcome impurities you don't want.
Water is a nessassary evil sometimes but should be avoided if possible.
Sealing the batteries from the atmosphere is most important, an unsealed cell will react to even the smallest change in humidity, may even add 10-15uA to your readings and that takes place in the top 0.5mm of the exposed cell material.

You may be right about the pink bunny, lets see how good it is at banging it's little drum with 10Kg of rock battery on it's back. .

You are going to have to explain to me who or what Julia Child is.

In your previous post you spoke of a compromise. Yes indeed, this is an area which needs alot more research, probably more than I can do.

I know this all sounds a bit vague but everything I have done has been posted in this thread.

One of the biggest buzzes I get from doing this is the boost I get from my failures. And I get a lot of boosts.

@Bill: I'm running some tests with a cell and a JT, hopefully I'll have a better answer for you soon.
The JT makes the cell do some strange things, stuff I did not expect. The cell is sitting at 0.45V but the LED is flashing at about 10Hz. It's been doing that for over 24hrs now. I was hoping for a constant light but each cell I've tried makes it flash. Any ideas?
