lee thanks to a post in your link I found out why he is not afraid of the bank. 
Except that the actual lender/bank no longer exists. That is why he was able to do this. Th other part of this equation is as follows:

And Robinson said that if the owner wants him to leave, he would have to pay off the rest of his mortgage debt as well as file a lawsuit to kick him out.

we filed a lawsuit to kick our squatters out of my dads house.Only $600 to do it.We were lucky it didn't take more.triffid

 my dads home was free and clear.I don't know why the owner has to pay off the mortgage debt to someone who doesn;t exist anymore.Looks like waving a gun around might scare the guy off?

Actually, it is you that doesn't understand the issue here.  He legally took possession of the house, is now residing in said house, and is taking care of said house.  If the owner (who was foreclosed upon) doesn't take court action and the mortgage company (that no longer exists) doesn't take court action, the man files more paperwork and the title belongs to him.  In the meantime, property values remain consistent because that property will be maintained.

So the way I see it robinson is making a gamble.That all he really has to do is wait out three years.If noone makes a legal move against him he wins.I don't care if the bank loses money.congress bails them out no matter what. I don't understand why the owner left the property in the first place unless he lacked detailed knowledge of his options.I would have stayed in the house if it had been me.triffid
