Free Energy will change the World - Free Energy will stop Climate Change - Free Energy will give us hope
and we will not surrender until free energy will be enabled all over the world, to power planes, cars, ships and trains.
Free energy will help the poor to become independent of needing expensive fuels.
So all in all Free energy will bring far more peace to the world than any other invention has already brought to the world.

              OKAY, LATER REEDIT:  The Gov't didn't make it.   They, the non-essential workers, will be on furlough.   I should get paid by bank deposit, but this whole situation can still potentially 'open up a can of worms' if Congress still can't 'get they're act together'.   The 'big worm' will be out on the 17th, when they vote on the debt ceiling.   If that fails, the country goes into fiscal lending default.   "Chaos", as triffid put it, might ensue.
So, seeing as how I'm the only one adding to this thread now, I'll get on with it now:  I'm a Vet and we'll get paid for Oct. and possibly Nov.   After that, I don't know.   But, this is definite:  It's a long term political stalemate in DC and will go on for some time.   Right, great!!!   I have food ahead and I'll get more in Oct.   After that, the whole country may be 'up in arms'---so to speak.  (I am writing cliches', now, aren't I?)   Maybe it's the pressure I'm under concerning the country's future? (The future of America and the world isn't good, IMHO, and this thread should have told you why, by now.)   Ripple effects of an economic downturn will begin spreading shortly.   The Gov't employs people and those people have suppliers and dependently related industries as well.   Three weeks of this economic inactivity might be a 10%-20% drop in GDP.   It gets worse quickly after that.   If people begin starving, they'll do what it takes to survive.   GOOD.       THING.       I.       LIVE.       ALONE.   -Lee

I'm merely a theoretical electronics engineer/technician for now, since I have no extra money for experimentation, but I was a professional electronics/computer technician in the past.
As a result, I have a lot of ideas, but no hard test results to back them up---for now.  That could change if I get a job locally in the Bay Area of California.

In the great depression of the 1930s.The common man had no money to spend.Then a few decades later people were worried about inflation.I believe a long time ago I presented proof that the USA has defaulted at least seven times before.The last time was 1972 when Nixon took the US dollar off of the gold standard.With the government shutdown maybe worse things are a-coming?http://www.cnbc.com/id/101084623?__source=yahoo|finance|headline|headline|story&par=yahoo&doc=101084623|First%20a%20default,%20then%20a%20d  these people seem to think so.triffid

Within a year, the Dow Jones Industrial Average tests the low of 2009, about 7500.  Over the next decade, the Dow falls 80-90% -- 1500 instead of 15,000 -- and residential real estate falls between one-half and two-thirds. All of the major money center banks are nationalized. Goldman Sachs or Morgan Stanley or both fail. At least one of the largest life insurers -- MONY, NY Life, Prudential, the Hartford -- fails. The labor force participation rate declines from 63.5% to 40% -- more than 40 million people become unemployed and leave the workforce. Total wealth lost would exceed double the GDP -- about $30 trillion -- $100,000 per capita. More than 90% of the population would NOT recover%2

Sorry,I am unable to clean up the post as I would like to.Some menu bar at the bottom of my page prevents me from correcting any copies of my posts.I think SS checks are ok for now.But as for food and water I seem to be ok for now.triffid.I live two blocks away from the big Missippi river so water may never be a problem?Just clean water.Remember to boil your water for 15 minutes.That kills most living things.triffid

@triffid
The worst that could happen?   Economic collapse and a national revolution that involves just about everyone who doesn't live in a fortified house/bunker/fort/castle/cave/etc.
       I at least implied I thought it would happen when I started this thread.   Watch what happens if Congress doesn't pass the budget bill to raise the national debt ceiling.   Uncle Sam defaults then and hell on American earth ensues.
