Cool,  I wonder if its direction oriented with the coil winding direction.  I think the idea is to catch the electric field as it collapses to the core, would probably work better with a split core.

if there is a difference, reverse the electrical connections.

The way I see it, well, saw it back then, if we think about how the AV plug works to charge a cap from an open ended secondary, the we must have something going back and forth in the secondary, even though there is no physical connection between the 2 out leads of the secondary.

So looking at the diagram in the vid, a magnetic induction should cause these same forces as the secondary in my above comment. I wish I had a copy of that paper the guy has. It 'looks' like if it were induced, and there were clockwise currents, as would be in a coil, then 1 lead would be + and the other - .

But does that constitute OU in any way? If so why? Dunno. If not, then convention has its place. Maybe my ideas are wrong.  I just look at things and I can make sense of one thing with knowledge of another. My brain goes into overdrive at times. Like Tito says about himself, I can understand. But it depresses me a bit when I cant come up with 1 way of doing it, when he seems to have many. Its not because Im lazy. Its just that we are not the same and have gone many different paths than each other. Even though we both may have those same abilities. Just as many here have.

I dont have the fire I had a couple years ago. I havnt given up. But I find I need to put time into my work and life also. I get that fire here n there, but the fuel is running out it seems. lol

I think here n there, "Do I have all the ingredients here to make an OU device?"  So far, I cant say.

Almost forgot.    Another observation, if one were to make a capacitor with the aluminum tap in the vid, if we know how caps are made and work, the 2 separate tapes would be rolled together, so that each layer alternates + and - tapes. But here it looks like the first is rolled, then the other on top, with wire connections connected to the tapes, 1 wire to the outer end edge of the last wrap of the first tape and another wire to the starting edge of the first wrap of the second tape.

So the actual capacitance, being it is called a capacitor here, should only be between the 2 adjacent wraps of the tape, the last wrap of the first tape, and the first wrap of the outer tape.

Not sure what is intended there. But I guess we can try. Thats what we should be doing. Testing unconventional ways, being convention is mostly known.

So when someone says why are you doing that, it doesnt make sense. Just give them one of these.
