Humanity must come to the conclusion that right now we have only one planet to live on.
If we do not take care of it we have no where else to move to.The oceans are a mess right now because out of sight ,out of mind.Most of us were not paying attention.If 90%of the forests were cut down in the last 50 years most of us would have noticed but the oceans are underwater.A can of tuna is really the most contact I have with the oceans.Corporations are part of the problem.Rich people own their own corporations to avoid paying taxes and to avoid lawsuits on the action of their corporations.The problem really lies with all of us not speaking out,not noticing what is going on.Oh I think we care.I dont want to eat canned jellyfish in place of tuna.If we start now we can save most of it.

Fish stocks can recover,even from 10%.So we still have some resources to work with.But the oceans are becoming acidic too.Too much CO2 in the atmosphere.Lower Ph levels in the ocean mess up the shellfish ability to use calcium carbonate in their shells.


One person can make a difference.One person invented the plastic that pollutes our oceans today.One person may come up with a microbe that eats it all up!Oil has been seeping into the oceans forever so microbes evolved to eat it.


Thats why most of an oil spill gets gobbled up in the oceans.Birds do have a hard time of it.It may be up to nature to evolve a microbe to eat the plastic.

I heard somewhere that when trees first came to be on the earth that dead wood lined up on the shorelines of the world deep and high until termites evolved to eat the dead wood.I guess maybe too that something will evolve to eat the plastic.triffid
