He's right!   Even in high school, I hung around highly intelligent 'nerds' who mused and posited the same thing.
       Did you notice?   When terrorists destroyed the Twin towers in NYC, they did little to stop financial trading.   Nightly backups at the close of daily business hours is routine.   Big deal about the Towers.   Their loss set business back a bit, but they didn't blow up power substation lines as those lines will have radiated into the commercial/residential community, did they?   No.   Doing that would cause a lot more concern to the 'The' lawful 'Authorities' than the Twin Towers falling merely to the ground---in thousands of tons of mangled concrete and rebar wreckage.
       The WTC is being---or has been---rebuilt as I write.

But, you're correct.   
       More security methods and/or techniques need to be addressed toward the apparently fragile electrical power infrastructure of the Lower 48, CONUS, and I mean, NOW!!
