well my attempts to get somebody who knows what they are doing with femm sims has failed. i am getting the fealing that this forum is tired of me already. for that my greatest appoligies.

I have one lst contribution to the halfbaked folders.

this is my take on a magnetic motor
somebody please run a simulation on it and post it here even if it is a dud. that way i will know.

thanks

Hi Danny,

I may be able to test this out for you, though I'm a little confused about the theory of operation. Can you explain this a little more to me?

By the way, FEMME cannot simulate 3D setups like the one you have, you will have to use a 3D simulator.

God Bless,

theory or operation -

starting from bottom to top

left tower rotates counter clockwise when viewed from the top
right side rotates clockwise when viewed from the top

viewed from the front (as in the image i have drawn)
the bottom left ring magnet (minus the wedge cutt out as in the top view) is repelled by the ring magnet bottom right (due to the cut)

the kick is only about a half an inch as i emagine it so the next magnet set up will "kick" again

and so on

i have anticipated one problem that may or may not occur. if they do not react in the fasion i have described then place a 1/4 inch gap/space between each layer of magnet rings

the rectangular magnet may or may not assist in getting past any sticky spots.

can you show me a femm sim of just one layer of magnets with cut outs as i have shown? this may help clarify what i am trying to say.

thanks

de lanca has recomended replacing weels with motors in another thread but applying to this motor. this post is to address that issue.

this motor has no weels.

it is composed of ring magnets with wedges removed from a strategical location in each layer of the device resulting in constant motion.

sorry if this is confusing or misleading in any way.

thanks
