Yes, if it were taught in schools then it could be carried forward.

Most people think that the government needs to do the things they do to keep the country going or to make it better. How is it working for us now? If the government was a business, which it runs like one but not suppose to, then it would be considered a failure. I am not in alignment with many on actions that need to be taken, but do recognize that many see there needs to be a change. If we disagree on these actions then the issues will not be addressed. If anything but mainstream actions are taken, then you are considered anti-government. I recognize we need government, but I am against the status quo in the government who do not represent the Americans.

Pirate - Don't take this personally... we are all Americans and have a right to our own opinion... :)  But, your attitude seems to be part of the problem.  People vote against "liberals" or "conservatives"
It's possible that a democrat could be the right candidate.

Ron Paul is a Republican.  Usually, I vote independent... Pat, Ross, etc.  But Ron Paul has my vote this time.  I supported Howard Dean until the "liberal media" buried his chances with a "he's crazy" mantra.
My point is that there are good candidates - they get trampled by the media - both sides.  the media, including Rush, Bill, and Shaun are part of the plan to control what we see and hear.  And yes - Tim Russert is the biggest whore of all.  At least Rush admits he's an entertainer... Tim claims to be a journalist.

My favorite media people are Lou Dobbs and Keith Oberman.  Maybe you should watch them sometime.  But I know anyone who disagrees with Bush would be a "liberal" in your eyes.  ;)

That's where they've got you.  Rush started it... and I have to give him some respect... it's genius really.  He details every wacky ass story about pedophiles and queers and tree huggers and then tosses it on a big pile of shit he calls liberal.  Then he just puts that tag on someone and BANG.
My grandmother listens to them... and she told me in 2004 that if Kerry wins, he will come with a gang of queers and take her bible.  haha  So yes - I know first hand how the propaganda works.

Here's what I think.  And let's cut this down to the bare bones and see if we disagree.

When a candidate runs for office and his platform is the constitution (i.e. Ron Paul) - I don't care what party he is running under.  Matter of fact - any politician who suggests a law that violates the constitution should be tried for treason.
That includes undeclared war.

Cap-Z-ro

Repeating history will not bring about change...lord knows we sorely need it.

The continual act of voting for political party's placed before us in a calculated fashion, to make it appear outwardly that we actually are making a choice...when the party's are all owned by a global elite.

All these politicians are in reality just another variety of actors...and bad ones at that....and for whatever the reason people will still line up at the polls...and that's turned into such a feeding frenzy, your vote doesn't even count anymore, its down to whichever party riggs the most voting machines.

Don't vote - don't drink the kool-aid.

Regards...

@Elvis,

I agree with most of what you said. Anyone who upholds the constitution also has my vote. They say I am wasting my vote, but it has to start somewhere. He has been deadfast on his beliefs for a very long time. Most won't listen to him because he is not mainstream. Mainstream got us to this point. Many seem to not like him as a candidate, yet they won't listen to what he has to say.

I too do not listen to anyone with an agenda that is other than the intent. Show business is in it for the money. I will say some of the things they say are correct in my opinion, but ego's faulter to ratings.

Some in this forum come close to the same conclusion that our government is failing us, no matter which path brought us here.

@ Elvis:

I don't disagree with a lot of what you said.  Just remember, I am a conservative, not republican...big difference now.  I voted for Bush 2 times but, and I am allowed to do this as are all Americans, I disagree with his immigration policies, I am totally against amnesty of any kind, and there are a number of other issues as well.  Bush is not a conservative, his record is clear.  I am glad you recognize the fraud by people like russert and other pseudo-journalists.  Like you said, at least rush calls it entertainment, not journalism.

About Ron Paul, I have been told he is for the constitution and I have also been told he does not have a rat's chance in hell of being elected.  Are these two things related?  Probably.  He scared me a little on some of his stances but, when in doubt, check the document.  If he was willing to do that, I would vote for him instead of McCain. (Who I am only voting for to NOT have Hillary or Obama)  Ppeople are now trying to cut the pork and ear-marks....well, the people that have to vote on that, house and senate, all say NO!!!!!  They want them because that is how they get elected and stay elected.  It was never meant to be like this.  We are not as far apart as you might imagine.

@ Cap:

Not voting is NOT the answer. (In my opinion)  As frustrating as all of this is, if we don't vote, unless everyone did not (which would never happen) the idiots will still be elected even with only a handful of votes....it only takes one right?  too many good men (and women) died for me to have the right to vote that I take it pretty seriously.  I will always vote, I just may not, and DO NOT, like our choices.  I take it you don't either?  I don't blame you.
