China has a broadband system that is hard to close down or hack because of udder confusion should we copy them .....

We may already have that confusion...in the brains of the ruling sociopaths.

I can't see them shutting down the entire net...maybe they will just shut down places like this that threaten their grip on the minds of the masses...they may try to confine net use to commerce and government data distribution.

A truth virus targeting digital TV signals, and popping up all over the place from numerous sources would do the job...if that can be done that is.

A signal jammer works so a signal rerouter is probably something possible in the near future. I can clearly see some company making a buck a bucket with such a system on prime time jamming everyone's cell phone and broadcasting rogue marketing scheme ... Alternatively the act is something that would protect us from that ... Or harm us who knows.

This is kinda reminding me of a passage in The fall of hyperion by dan simmons , after the hegemony felt :
