Hoppy if you're going to use ZVS for Chubinidze a guy told me that it's not good for that circuit. I'm not sure if it was on this forum.

Well that's strange because the basic ZVS is what 00 is showing! Have we been given a duffer here?? 00 wrote the following in reply 2373: -

5 watts  is used for iron cored 12-0-12 primary and it has many number of turns so then only you need 5 watts and here you are using just 9 turns. yes 5 watts is too much. use 1/2 watt. moreover you can attach 20 nf caps CERAMIC NON POLAR across the both resistors and one across the two ends of the coil left end and right end. i did not have any problem running it. but later i attached 20 nf  caps. the spark needed is very small not much powerful the alluminium core coil does all the work to  power the bulb. if you are not able to run my specified circuit then just run your own what you had been running for spark production but it must not be very strong coz its just needed to start the process of oscillation between thick copper coil and 1 mkfd cap on primary. spark is just make and break mechanism and work is mainly done by the frequency. when frequency dont match you wont have output. its like tunning radio to a broadcasting station.
vary the cap on secondary to tune  by sliding coils.

His description does not suggest that there is anything critical about the flyback driver. Having said this, the normal method of driving a flyback would be by one transistor as shown attached.

Dear guruji, Hoppy and all.

You may recall that driving it hard with the Royer oscillator directly on the 3 turn primary at 750 KHz was the only way to get any output!!

I have had no success at all with driving the coil via a spark gap!!

Same here but lets give 00 the opportunity to guide us to success. He comes over as an expert giving lots of guidance, so lets see how it all pans out and hope that he doesn't just 'talk the talk'!

  I've been watching this thread for the last week or more, in the hope that 00 is going to show us a working system that confirms his guidance, (expert advice?).
  Or, are warnings and expert advice all there is? 
  NO lit bulbs that I've seen yet.
  Maybe I missed something... I hope so...
