  Akula started his first self runner test with the magnetic induction circuit, as I have done. Not with the Kacher/grenade/ earth ground theme. As he did not use a Kacher crt in his first device, nor an earth ground, and the circuit was shown working. 
  So, then... who can you trust?   
   I trust my eyes, and my intuition.  As my eyes alone can also fool me.

Nick, do you have a link to the video where Akula shows that the device keeps running
after he disconnects the ground wire? I can't remember which video that was now, but I remember
watching the video quite a while back.

  High voltage was superimposed by the inner 50 turns coil (choke?), inside of the larger air coil, which is connected only to a tuning capacitor, and nothing else.
  The induction was provided by the mosfet and pcb controller.
No ground, no battery, no separate kacher crt...

Akula's first self runner was an interesting device for sure. I really don't
understand well at all what Akula was doing there.

I see dead link too. By description I see a bit modified Ufopolitic's cold electricity collector No ground there too. And works well. I fried many components on it
