Well, once you open the Dirac Sea gate, the more you load the gate, the more the gate opens.  Then, you get to a point where the gate is opened enough so you can interact with the nucleus of the atoms themselves.  This has to do with the generation of negative energy.   Then, once you are at that level...E/2 could easily become E/1 or E or E squared.  Or possibly...even E infinity.

All wonderful answers but alas we are no closer. Prochiro is the closest but unfortunately this is still not correct.

Where would E/2 come from when we are looking at Inductors and the operation of them? Why would one assume E/2 and then how could it double to E?

Does everyone agree? I think TK is probably the best.

Maybe EMJ means to represent the total E field from both bucking coils as "E". Then E/2 would be the contribution of one of the coils, that is, one half of E.
The electric field is a vector, its units are volts/meter and in vector calculus it is the negative gradient of the voltage (scalar) at the measurement point.
