Talking of toroids and Fritzie Chris the yoke used in Akula Dally device it might be easy to convert that to a bucking device I wonder if that would work ir the two halvers were wired to be opposing each other just an idea.

I have here a toroid test rig three matching oils but one reverse wound and wired to buck it lights a 10Watte lamp dimly 1/2 brightness but 12v at 10w is 1-2 amp the thing draws about 1.6 amp so where is the rest of the power disappearing too?
