That could be step1.

Find the frequency to the earth?... Seek out and find it?

How is a schummer resonant test usually done to prove there even is such a thing?

Is this resonance to earth found when the plates are in a non inductive state after excitation?

What is he searching for, and what information feedback is he getting?
