You never heard about "free energy devices" built before and after wwII when  huge MW and LW radio stations used for worldwide propaganda?
Then smart guys whos homes was at suitable distance from antennas just did build large coils for fishing "free energy". Cheapest unit was just the coil and selenium rectifier ... tuned ones consisted  capacitors as well ;-)   Caused fadeout of radiance did betray these perpetrators to inspectors equiped with aparatus for measuring of field intensity. At least in undemocratic countries it was serious crime --- Free Energy has been changed for Free Bred for many years

Well, when I look at these videos, I have to say: I don't think  this is the principle Tesla meant for the Wardenclyff Tower.
Tesla mentioned several times, when he set up his devices like in the videos, that this is nice to look at, but impracticable for far distance transmission.
As far as I understood it, the tower should couple by electrostatic induction to the ionosphere. Therefore he needed a high voltage in the tower (Tesla spoke of at least 10MV). As the Tower is also connected to the earth. Tesla made it clear, that it is very important, that the tower gets an extremely good earth connection (by underground water).
Like that, he could make a capacitive coupling from the tower to the ionosphere-earth-capacitor, and modulate its charge.
Therefore now you could anywhere on the earth just take two capacitor plates (or spheres), or better one plate and an earth connection, and you could get your capacitor charged by the ionosphere-earth-capacitor. Sure, you couldn't get much energy like that, but if you let this capacitor resonate synchronous to the iono-earth-cap, so that its voltage rises, then you can draw much more energy (proportional to the voltage of the resonating cap). This is actually the principle of a capacitive transformer. Where you have the iono-earth-cap as the "primary" outer cap.
Therefore you are not at all interested that the tower generates any EM-waves, as they would just be a waste...
Tesla needed quite some effort, as he said, to optimize the tower so that it doesn't leak this EM-Waves although he lets resonate enormous amounts of energy...This is actually quite a feat!

The advantages of this system:
* You can draw energy anywhere between the ionosphere and the earth.
* The sending tower only has to really use power to recharge the iono-earth-cap, if anything gets received by someone (the iono-earth-cap gets discharged)
* You can place sending towers anywhere on earth. So you can construct them right at the place the energy is made.
  -> No more cabling is needed.
* As e.g. the sending tower sees the power needed by some appliances it knows their energy drawn. So by modulating the drawn energy you could actually communicate. (This is the same principle as currently used in RFID Systems)
* As the E-Fields of the iono-earth-cap need time to propagate around the earth, you have different locations with different current potential (you could call this simply longitudinal waves). You can modulate the waves so, that the waves will always have an unique pattern, dependant of where your receiver is currently located. Like that you can make a Global Positioning System, without any Satellite and very precise...(for that you would actually need at least 3 towers on earth)

The disadvantages:
* You know, how much Power is received, but you have no idea, who received this power. Therefore the whole metering/pricing system doesn't work anymore. This is actually why Tesla's Wardenclyff has been stopped, and also the reason why it wouldn't have any chance even today...
* The modulation of the natural E-Field of the iono-earth-cap could have strong influences on the behaviour of organisms...
* As with this system you can actually communicate anyone with anyone, without needing someone connecting, you don't need any telecommunications company anymore (2nd reason why it would have a hard start even today).
You only need someone who is distributing the individual unique modulation schemes.

It could well be, that this capacitive transformer principle is not what Tesla had in thought. But this is at what I arrived at after studying his papers/lectures and patents. And even a standard EE could tell you, that actually this principle should work...So nothing esoteric about that.

What I personally do not understand, why people always say, that the Wardenclyff is a FE device. As far as I know, Tesla never said this. In the contrary, he said that towers should be built right at the production sites e.g. waterfall-dam-generators or wind generators, ... So the Power which can be received has also to be produced...
And this makes the point about the metering/pricing even worse. Because someone has to pay to produce the power, but you can't meter/price it the customers...The only solution I could suggest would be, that everyone on earth would have to pay flat some money. But this would be extremely difficult, if not impossible to solve politically...
