Where do the electrons come from in a generator

As the magnet passes the core it creates eddy currents in the cutouts, exactly where the wires are wound.
This could be done in a solenoid type coil using washers three small washers then a large washer three small then another large ect ect this would create cutouts for eddy currents.
secondary's wound in the cutouts primary wound over the top.

I guess the washers probably would not work the currents would run in the washers.
Has anyone tried cutting lamination's on a lathe.
The lamination's need to run with the magnetic field with cutouts across the lamination.
