[/font]I asked what you meant by "sympathetic".OK, fine, good enough. It's not a word I would have used but I suppose it works for you. The idea of "sympathetic" evokes for me some kind of coupling in an AC system rather than the reinforcing fields of a DC system though. That last diagram, by the way, is just the way I'll be making some coils for the levitation project, except the center coil probably will be independent rather than wired in series with the outer coils as you have it.

What makes you think that electromagnetic levitation has anything to do with electrogravitics, I wonder?

Does this demonstration indicate an electrogravitic interaction? Have I just discovered AA (Arduino Antigravity)? I guess I had better call up NASA right after breakfast and let them know, before the NWO boogiemen start crawling out of the woodwork to steal my notes, destroy my prototypes and delete my YT channel.

(Don't let yourself be fooled. It should be obvious to you that what is _really_ happening in the video is that I am balancing the black ball on top of the light beam crossing underneath it, which is so thick and solid it can hold up the ball.)

Smaller diameter coils would have a higher frequency than a larger diameter coil.
Im not thinking magnetic here although the magnetics are coupled, but look at the A vector field and its frequency can it be used to spin up a larger coil.
Would the air core give up its field to the ferrite, the outer coils are repelled from each other but are attracted to the center coil.
Its interesting thinking about fields spinning up fields, we have pulsed coils every way that can be thought of, AC, pulsed DC maybe its time for a different approach.

Something I notice when freezing coils, the field that was present around the outside of the air core coil disappeared when the core was ferrous, the ferrous core pulled the field in around the core, concentrated the field.
