To understand the action of the local condenser E in fig.2 let a single discharge be first considered. the discharge has 2 paths offered~~ one to the condenser E the other through the part L of the working circuit C. The part L  however  by virtue of its self induction  offers a strong opposition to such a sudden discharge  wile the condenser on the other hand offers no such opposition ......TESLA..

Hi IST, I have been following some of your work and I like it a lot, I replicate what I can, such as using a pulsing tv-yoke with external magnetic fields to create higher voltage. Anyway this is my first post here, but I would like to know more about rectifying the cold spark on a Tesla Coil. If you could tell me some more about this or give me some pointers, I would be very grateful. Thank you again.

The resistance which is the negative. Without resistance, there would be no lightning. Resistance emits the lightning and resistance absorbs it.
