this is the current amplifier. tesla coil just used to produce hv dc.

    The plasma in a spark gap grows from each electrode.  The cavity created between the electodes decreases in size and increases in electrical flux.  The  casimier force drives the plasma for the last angstrom  or so.  This acceleration of the plasma due to zero point energy or space vibrations results in all sorts of high energy collisions in the plasma crack.   
The rf or photon emission from the spark gap is nasty.  But can result in rf currents induced into the circuit feeding the gap.  These rf currents are produced by zero point energy tapping.  Tesla knew it and pickedup the gain and stored it in his tesla transformers.  He went to tubes as soon as they were available because of the many problems with arcing over due to the randomness of gasses ionized in the spark gaps and electrode degradation.  By the way if you are using sharp pointy electrodes wrong way to go.  You need electrodes that follow Tesla geometry that minimises lightning.
