If, in this case, the voltage across capacitor C * and L * is greater than the output isolation transformer (resonance adjusts trimmer 10k), and the bulb will illuminate and battery will not be discharged, the question is practically settled.

After the diode bridge is a voltage regulator can adjust the voltage applied to the battery.

About the inverter back wire, yes it is also there in the Green Box (GB) demo and not used as you say. I have looked at all the possible views of that wire.

In the GB video, the plug they use to connect the GB to the inverter has two white wires that are separated and you can see those excess wires are in a bundle but you can clearly see the two wires on the plug.

The inverter back wire is the same wire but only one. It was retrofitted to the inverter and is not an original part of the inverter. There is not two wires in the back plug. This means in the 2004 video when they plugged the back plug into the socket, only one of the mains conductors was used. Most likely the active one and not the neutral return side. This because the inverter output not only went to the transformer but it also was going directly into the tin can and from there to the bulbs.

He had to make sure the plug was plugged on the good side of the mains socket otherwise he would have created a direct short. This means the action from the inverter output to the bulbs was linear and did to have any real isolation like transistors and diodes.

Your suggestion to use my isolation transformer (IT) is a good one. I will try it tonight when I return home.

I will run the IT directly from mains, connect the active output to the bulb and the other side of the bulb to my ground pipe that is isolated. If it works, we will know. If it does not work, then I will connect the mains ground to the pipe and try again. If this works, then we know that the GB video water pipe must have been grounded from inside the house since the pipe obviously comes from the house piping system.

In NY USA my Mains ground is same as my ground rod.  My ground rod is over 50 feet from the Mains ground.
Both are in the ground and using an Ohms meter connected to ground rod and mains ground there is proof of connection.
So when I did the one wire from Mains load -> bulb -> ground rod it showed the same amps and voltage as when I did the one wire from Mains -> bulb -> Mains ground.
If your experiment shows something different then we need to talk  :)
