No it is static like. It is a mix of static and a smidgen of current. The current keeps it harvestable. The spark gap is of course a timing device but also a strength of the tension device. The wider the gap the stronger the voltage value and the slower it fires.

 I'm glad you are back stivep. I certainly understand the problems TK'S is and has faced but Tesla thought this technology was not controllable by man. Anyone with the knowledge could harvest their own energy from this process. It is free only because all of nature is doing the exact same thing and creating the potential difference all around us. It is not free. It is harvestable through electric induction and convertible via matter exposed to that induction field.


The transformer Tesla developed is the perfect engine. It rebounds from a bucking coil setup and explodes back and forth creating huge movements in the electrical field all around the cyclic path. Any extra can be extracted via a bifilar secondary so both sides of the cycle can be utilized in a polarized method. Since the spark gap limits the speed and breakdown voltage the engine will have a maximum limit based on the masses used in the oscillator.
